Kentucky, owned extensive wheat farms in the Hickman area. The house was
torn down in 1936 and replaced with the Shannon Funeral Home. Julian Mourot, architect.
Beard
House that once stood at the corner of 12th and I, where the former
post office building is now, 1870s. It was demolished in the early 1920s
to make way for the first post office building.William Brown Residence, 1886; 903 J Street corner 9th St.; cost over $4,000. This two-story, wood framed structure with eleven rooms and hot and cold running water was designed and built for early Modesto photographer, William Brown, by Julian Mourot.
